S’Court Judgment: Makinde-backed PDP Set Up Caretaker Committee, Names Turaki, Others As Members

THE factional National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), backed by Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has set up an 13-member Caretaker Committee, with Tanimu Turaki (SAN) as Chairman.
This was sequel to the judgment of the Supreme Court last week upholding the nullification of last year’s Ibadan national convention where Turaki emerged as national chairman, among others, by the lower courts.
At the faction’s NEC meeting on Monday, May 4, in Abuja, following a motion moved by the Edo State PDP Chairman, Tony Aziegbemi, and seconded by the party’s ex officio member, Clement Fagboyede.
Other members of the committee are Taofeek Arapaja, as National Secretary; Daniel Ambrose; Hamza Abuya; Ihediwa; Isah Abubakar; Theophilus Dakashan; Ini Ememobong; Aribisala Adewale Idowu; Baru Shaffi; and Okechukwu Obiechina.
