DELTA State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has congratulated the Founder and Presiding Bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide (also known as Winners Chapel), Bishop David Oyedepo, on his 72nd birthday, describing his contributions to faith, education and nation-building as enduring.
Oborevwori described Oyedepo as a “rare gift to Christendom,” whose teachings, mentorship and commitment to Christian ministry had shaped generations of believers, noting his contribution to education through the establishment of Covenant University and Landmark University, which have become important centres of academic excellence, character development and youth empowerment.
The governor, in a message on Sunday, September 27, in Asaba by his Chief Press Secretary, Festus Ahon, said Oyedepo had, through decades of dedicated service, inspired millions of people in Nigeria and beyond.
Oborevwori said: “Bishop Oyedepo is not only a father in the faith, but also a role model whose life of service, integrity and visionary leadership continues to inspire millions, including me.
“Your commitment to nation-building, spiritual guidance and the empowerment of youths through quality education is truly commendable.
“We remain proud of your accomplishments and grateful for the positive influence you have had on countless lives.”
He prayed that God grants the cleric continued strength, sound health and grace for many more years of impactful service to the church and humanity.
In another development, Oborevwori described Roli Nere, wife of former governor, Emmanuel Uduaghan, as a woman of virtue and compassion whose life has been marked by selfless service.
While felicitating the former first lady of the state on her 65th birthday, Oborevwori, in a congratulatory message by Ahon, commended her for her contributions to philanthropy and social advocacy, particularly her efforts to support widows, orphans, inmates and other vulnerable members of society.
Oborevwori recalled her humanitarian interventions through the ‘I CARE’ initiative during the administration of her husband, which provided relief and empowerment to many less-privileged people across the state.
He stated: “This milestone is a testimony to God’s grace upon your life and the numerous lives you have touched with your compassion.
“As you mark this new age, may the Almighty continue to strengthen you, reward your labour of love, and grant you greater joy in the years ahead.”
