THE Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared a former chairman of the defunct Pension Reform Task Team, Abdulrasheed Maina, wanted.
The EFCC, in a notice by its Head, Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, said: “The public is hereby notified that Abdulrasheed Abdullahi Maina, whose photograph appears above, is wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in an alleged case of Receiving Stolen Properties.”
In the notice posted on its official X handle, on Wednesday, September 23, EFCC urged anybody with useful information regarding Maina’s whereabouts to contact it through its offices in Ibadan, Uyo, Sokoto, Maiduguri, Benin, Makurdi, Kaduna, Ilorin, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, Gombe, Port Harcourt or Abuja, or through 08093322644; its e-mail address: info@efcc.gov.ng, or the nearest Police Station and other security agencies.
Maina, 61, is an indigene of Biu in Borno State, was extradited to Nigeria in 2020 to face his ongoing money laundering trial, following his arrest in Niamey, the capital of Niger Republic, after he jumped bail and was declared wanted by an Abuja High Court, where he was standing trial for alleged money laundering to the tune of N2billion.
