ADC Uploads Atiku, Amaechi’s Particulars To INEC Nomination Portal

*Set To Unveil Ex-Gov As Atiku’s Running Mate

THE African Democratic Congress (ADC), on Tuesday night, June 30, said it had uploaded the names and particulars of its presidential and vice presidential candidates for next year’s general elections, Atiku Abubakar and Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) nomination portal.

    ADC’s spokesman, Bolaji Abdullahi, who disclosed this in a statement posted on his X handle, added: “We are pleased to announce that we have successfully uploaded the names and particulars of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar (GCON), and our vice presidential candidate, Rotimi Amaechi (CON), to the nomination portal of INEC.”

    Abdullahi, while describing the submission as another milestone in the party’s preparations for the elections, said the move reflected the ADC’s commitment to offering Nigerians “a credible alternative built on competence, unity and national renewal.”

    The party, on June 16, announced Amaechi as Atiku’s running mate after an “extensive consultations with party leaders, coalition partners, youth and women stakeholders, and representatives of all geopolitical zones,” according to Abdullahi, who described the former minister of Transportation as one of Nigeria’s “most experienced and respected political leaders” with “widespread support from party members across the federation.”

    Meanwhile, the party is set to formally unveil Amaechi, following Atiku’s return to Nigeria from a brief foreign trip.
