ANOTHER rare opportunity is about to present itself for a public meeting of the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate in last year’s general elections, Mr. Peter Obi, and his somewhat political protagonist, Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).

The occasion would be the public presentation of The Voice of a Prophet,, a compendium of vintage speeches of Senator Ben Ndi Obi, on Saturday, March 30, at the ASUU Secretariat of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, the state capital.

.   The book was put together by the senator’s former senior legislative adviser, Dr. Sebastian Anekwe, a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Political Science, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.

Obi and Soludo would be Guests of Honour at the event to be chaired by Chief Clem Nwankwu (Dike Udum Abagana).

Senators Ifeanyi Ubah, Tony Nwoye and Victor Umeh would be Special Guests of Honour, while Chief Clem Nwogbo would be the Chief Presenter/Launcher.

With a Foreword by Prof. Ken Nwuba, a Professor of Public and Private Law/International Terrorism and Armed Hostilities, the book is segmented into nine chapters, covering contemporary Nigerian politics, including insecurity, third term agenda, which Obi described as “political exclusion game,” tributes to great Nigerian leaders and the menace of herdsmen, among other topics.

In a brief chat, Obi said the 321-page book was “a compilation of various speeches, interviews and my opinions on key national issues, including various activities organised by my office then as the Special Adviser to the Nigeria’s President that culminated to the signing of the Abuja Peace Accord, leading to the formation of the National Peace Committee, under the Chairmanship of former head of state, Gen. Abdulsalam Abubakar, GCFR (rtd).”

The book presentation is expected to attract distinguished citizens, academic, top politicians, scholars, researchers, diplomats, teachers and historians, etc.

Obi was at a time the presidential running mate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
