Delta Begins Akumazi-Umuocha Roads Construction

Published:

THE Delta State Government has commenced construction of two roads in Akumazi-Umuocha, Ika North-East Local Council, to improve accessibility, ease transportation and stimulate economic activities in the agrarian community.

The construction of Ogbe-Uku Road and Idumu Igwe Street is expected to improve connectivity within the community and provide residents with easier access to homes, farms, markets, among others.

While flagging off the construction works on Saturday, October 31, Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Charles Aniagwu, expressed appreciation to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for approving the projects and directing their immediate commencement

Aniagwu said the intervention reflects the governor’s commitment to extending infrastructure development to communities across the state, particularly rural areas, where good road networks are critical to the livelihoods of residents.

He stated that the construction would address some of the transportation challenges and improve movement within the community, as well as create better opportunities for commercial and agricultural activities.

The commissioner noted that the projects were part of the administration’s deliberate efforts to strengthen rural infrastructure in line with its MORE Agenda.

Aniagwu expressed optimism that completion of the roads would bring considerable relief to residents and further demonstrate government’s determination to ensure development reaches communities across the state.
