*Intensify Hunt For Director, One Other Suspect
IN continuation of its investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of the Deputy Director in the state Ministry of Secondary Education, Unity Ekpevbughe Adeda, the Delta State Police Command has taken into custody, the Commissioner for Secondary Education, Kingsley Ashibogwu, alongside three other suspects in connection with the case.
This brings the number of persons in Police custody in connection with the investigation to five.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe (SP), stated in a statement on Monday, September 28, that following the incident, Police operatives activated efforts to apprehend the two key suspects, the Director of Basic and Secondary Education, Clementine Ufuoma, and the commissioner’s driver, Clement Apia, whose presence were required in furtherance of the investigation.
Edafe stated that the state Commissioner of Police (CP), Samuel E. Erale, urged the two suspects to make themselves available to the Police without further delay.
While reiterating that the investigation will be pursued thoroughly, impartially and professionally, Erale assured the family of the deceased and the public that due process would be followed and anyone found culpable would be brought to justice in accordance with the law.
