THE Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Nyesom Wike, on Monday, April 7, met with and hosted them at a dinner in the United Kingdom (UK), the 27 suspended members of the Rivers State House of Assembly loyal to him.
The former governor had earlier met with some of his political allies in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, on Sunday, April 6, according to his media aide, Lere Olayinka, on his Facebook page.
Olayinka wrote: “Yesterday, the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, hosted Rivers State House of Assembly members who are in the United Kingdom for Legislative Capacity Building, to a dinner.
“Wike left Nigeria on Sunday night after visiting his political friends and associates in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.”
The lawmakers were suspended by President Bola Tinubu, alongside Governor Siminalayi Fubara, and his Deputy, Mrs Ngozi Odu, following his declaration of state of emergency for six months in the state. Governor Sim Fubara was also suspended for six months due to lingering political crisis between Wike and Fubara.
