GOVERNORS Mai Mala Buni of Yobe and Babagana Zulum of Borno states have stated that President Bola Tinubu deserves a second term due to administration’s achievements in the last two years.
Speaking during the recent All Progressives Congress (APC) Northeast Consultative Forum meeting held in Gombe, Buni said Tinubu had demonstrated effective leadership in steering Nigeria through both local and global challenges and ensuring the country’s continued progress.
He noted that the President introduced reforms over the past two years aimed at placing Nigeria on the path of growth and national development, adding that his policies and programmes require more than four years to be effectively implemented and sustained for meaningful impact.
Buni stressed that his re-election in 2027 would ensure the continuation and advancement of the ongoing reforms for the country’s ’s benefit, pointed out that his administration has introduced new measures to tackle insecurity in the zone.
The governor stated that these measures would allow residents to return to their farms, enhancing food sufficiency and reinforcing food security, acknowledging that while the reforms have brought some hardships and challenges, they also offer renewed hope for a brighter future.
According to him: “These policies require careful strategic planning and sufficient time, and a single term may not be adequate for their full implementation.
“To deliver lasting results, more than one term may be needed for effective and efficient execution of these initiatives.”
He urged residents of the zone to continue to support the federal government and security agencies in the pursuit of lasting peace in the zone, calling on the APC Northeast Forum to endorse Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election to complete the administration’s agenda.
On his part, Zulum commended Tinubu’s efforts in tackling insecurity in the Northeast, noting that his government is restoring peace in the zone, the results of which were becoming increasingly visible.
He alligned with Buni’s call for a second term for the President in 2027 to continue the progress in various sectors.
