PRESIDENT Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his wife, Oluremi, have felicitated the General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, on his 84th birthday, describing him as one of Nigeria’s greatest spiritual gifts.
In a joint message to mark Adeboye’s birthday on Monday, March 2, the President and his wife described Adeboye as a spiritual pillar whose steadfast intercession and moral guidance have continued to uplift the nation, highlighting his humility and profound wisdom, as his influence extends far beyond the pulpit.
In the same vein, Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, while congratulating Adeboye, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile, described the revered clergyman as a respected global preacher, noting that his unblemished record of service in God’s kingdom over several decades had made him a role model to many religious leaders and Christians.
The governor also described the cleric as an epitome of honesty, dedication and selfless service, adding that as the second national president of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), he had raised millions of committed followers of Jesus Christ within the RCCG and beyond.
He said Adeboye, as a true ambassador of God, has been a blessing not just to the RCCG, but also to us in Lagos State and the country, noting that his relentless prayers for Lagos State and his wise counsel over the years have contributed in no small measure to the phenomenal progress the state has continued to witness.
According to him: “Daddy GO,’ as Pastor Adeboye is fondly called, is one of the respected global evangelists who has contributed immensely to the propagation of the gospel at national and international levels without any blemish or scandal.
“His devoted service in God’s vineyard has helped to put Nigeria in the global spotlight as a land of spiritual exploits and greatness.”
Sanwo-Olu prayed that God would grant the cleric more grace and strength to continue spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ and impacting lives positively.
Meanwhile, Adeboye has called on leaders in the country to align with the doctrines of God and obey His commandments to enjoy the fullness of His unfailing promises.
Speaking through his Personal Assistant (Administration), Pastor Dele Balogun, during the RCCG monthly thanksgiving service at the Throne of Grace, Ebute-Metta, Lagos, headquarters, the reverred cleric said God’s promises are dependable because of His unchanging nature, adding that God has specific promises for individuals, the church and the nation at large.
He charged Nigerians to turn a new leaf, embrace righteousness and collective responsibility, saying only through obedience to God can Nigeria truly rise again.
