Tinubu Names New NAHCOM, NCPC Board, Management

PRESIDENT Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of a new Board and Management team for the National Hajj Commission (NAHCOM) and the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC).

A statement by his spokesman, Mr. Ajuri Ngelale, on Wednesday in Abuja, said the appointments were pending confirmation by the Senate.

Mr. Jalal Arab is named Chairman and Mr. Aliu Abdulrazaq as Commissioner, Policy, Personnel and Finance of NAHCOM, with Prince Anofi Elegushi as Commissioner in charge of Operations and Prof. Abubakar A. Yagawal as Commissioner in charge of Planning and Research.

The eight new appointed NAHCOM zonal representatives include Dr. Muhammad Umaru Ndagi (North Central); Mr. Abba Jato Kala (Northeast); Sheikh Muhammad Bin Othman (Northwest); Tajudeen Oladejo Abefe (Southwest); Aishat Obi Ahmed (Southeast); Zainab Musa (South-South); as well as Prof. Musa Inuwa Fodio, Jama’atul Nasril Islam and Prof. Adedimeji Mahfouz Adebola (Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs).

The President also approved the appointment of nine board members for the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), with Col. Aloche Adole as Chairman and Dr. Stephen Adegbite as Secretary.

Other members are Omowumi Olubunmi Ogunlola (Southwest); Clement Alobu Nweke (Southeast); Chief Prince Weli Wosu (South-South); Prof. Joseph Haruna Mamman (Northwest); Dr. Toma Hamidu Ragnjiya (Northeast); Dr. Simon Abu Samson Dolly (North Central) and Bishop Raphael Benjamin Nwankwo (Christian Association of Nigeria).

Tinubu, the statement said, charged the new appointees to consider their appointment as an opportunity to serve the country, urging them to commit themselves to this important purpose.
