PRESIDENT Bola Tinubu, on Monday, July 20, approved 26 fresh appointments into the boards and management of 10 Federal Government agencies and commissions, with a former governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, and Maj-Gen. Junaid Bindawa (rtd) named as Chairmen of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) and National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission, respectively.
Also appointed are Ahmadu Abubakar and Ilyasu Ibrahim Makinta as non-executive directors, Abba Abubakar Aliyu as Director General and three serving executive directors of REA.
For the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission, former member of the House of Representatives, Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas, was appointed Secretary, as well as Ogbole Ene Lilian (Benue), Oladele Olatubosun (Oyo) and Yakubu Umar Barde (Kaduna) as commissioners, and Mai Adamu Yau (Borno), Ginika Florence Tor (Enugu), Engineer Lawrence Okoh (Edo) and Bello Morenike Iyabode (Kogi) as members.
The President also named Tosin Johnson Adeyanju, a former executive secretary of the National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF) as Secretary of the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).
Similarly, Tinubu appointed Abuh Mohammed as Director General of the National Population Commission (NPC); Akinola Odeyemi as Managing Director of the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading (NBET); and Anthony Inalegwu Godwin as Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission.
Former local government chairman, Julius Oloro, was named Chief Executive Officer of the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM), Ilorin, to replace A.R. Kamal, who died in January.
Tinubu reconstituted the board of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission, appointing Abdullahi Maikano Saidu as Chairman; Mohammed Asmau, Mohammed Aliyu Makama, Suleiman Gidado, Louis O. Ndukwe, Amaechi Ugwele and Olaniyi Idowu Onikola as members.
Shuni Muhammad Dahiru was appointed Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education, replacing Shu’aibu Shehu Aliyu, who was redeployed to the Petroleum Trust Development Fund (PTDF) in April, while Gisaor Vincent Iorja, currently Secretary of the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC), was named Executive Director (Finance) of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), following the resignation of Mathias Byuan.
