Tinubu Attends 37th AU Summit In Ethiopia

PRESIDENT Bola Tinubu left Abuja on Thursday, February 15, for Addis-Ababa, Ethiopia, to attend the 37th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU), themed, ‘Educate an African fit for the 21st Century: Building resilient education systems for increased access to inclusive, lifelong, quality, and relevant learning in Africa.’ 

    A statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Ajuri Ngelale, said Tinubu will join other African leaders in high-level meetings on institutional reforms of the AU; peace and security; specific thematic issues, such as climate change and modalities of participation and priorities of the Union in the G20. 

   While there, the President will also attend an extraordinary Summit of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) in his capacity as the Chairman of the body.

    The statement added that Tinubu will be accompanied on the trip by some ministers and other top government officials and was expected back to Abuja at the end of the Summit.
