PRESIDENT Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan as the new Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.
Enitan will assume office on August 27, to succeed Didi Esther Walson-Jack, who is due to retire after attaining the statutory retirement age of 60.
The Osun State-born Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Education is the most senior Permanent Secretary in the Federal Civil Service and has served in that position for seven years and seven months, at the Ministry of Police Affairs, Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Office of the Vice President.
A statement from the Presidency said Enitan brings extensive experience and a strong understanding of the Federal Civil Service to the new position.
The statement said Tinubu thanked Walson-Jack for her years of dedicated public service and contributions to reforms and innovations in the civil service, wishing her a successful life after retirement.
The President charged Enitan to build on the reforms already introduced in the civil service and to promote professionalism, efficiency, accountability and innovation across the service, as well as build a more responsive civil service capable of delivering the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Born on December 12, 1966, Enitan attended Ajibode Grammar School, Ibadan, and College of Arts and Science, Ile-Ife, from where he proceeded to study Finance and Banking at the University of Lagos, graduating in 1988.
He obtained a Master’s degree in Public Policy Analysis from Nasarawa State University, Lafia, in 2015.
