TERRORISTS have killed the aged mother and the junior brother to the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Dutsi Local Government Area of Katsina State, Kabir Lawal.
While the name of the deceased woman was not known at time, the name of the DPO’s junior brother was said to be Usman.
The victims were killed when terrorists in their numbers stormed their family house in the wee hours of Tuesday, November 29 in Dutsinma Local Government Area of the state.
It is unclear why the terrorists targeted the DPO’s family home, but it was gathered that the incident may not be unrelated to an act of vendetta that was carried out by the terrorists.
While some of the terrorists’ attacks have targeted policemen or their duty posts, the Dutsinma incident is first time a Police officer’s family members were targeted.
The incident was said to have raised fears amongst residents of the community, even as security personnel were said to have been drafted Tuesday morning.
Spokesperson of the state Police Command, Gambo Isah, could not respond to inquiry on the incident at press time.
