IT will be judgment day on Thursday, April 30, for opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as the Supreme Court rules on two all-important political appeals involving the leadership crises rocking them.
According to information on the apexcourt’s official website, the matters, listed under “Political Appeals,” were included in the cause list for Thursday, April 30.
While the judgment in the ADC matter, marked SC/CV/180/2026, has been fixed for 2 pm, it was not immediately clear exactly what time that of PDP will be delivered.
The ADC leadership crisis involving Mark and a rival faction, led by Nafiu Bala Gombe, was heard on April 22 by a five-member panel, led by Justice Mohammed Garba, which subsequently reserved judgment.
Recall that the Mark-led ADC had in a letter dated April 28, by its Counsel, S.E. Aruwa to the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), urged the apex court to deliver judgment within three days, warning the ADC “stands the grave and irreversible risk of being excluded from participating in the 2027 general election.”
