THE newly hired Assistant Coach of Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan, Akin Olowokere, slumped and died on Monday morning during training.
Olowokere was one of the coaches recently hired by the club.
Although there has been no official statement on what could have led to his death, but eyewitnesses told PUNCH Online in Ibadan that he slumped on the pitch during the team’s Monday morning training session and was rushed to the hospital, but was however confirmed dead on arrival.
It was also gathered that Olowokere, a former Sunshine Stars of Akure player and later tactician, went down while in action, attracting medical attention immediately, before being rushed to an undisclosed hospital.
