THE Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) club, Rivers United, while presenting former Super Eagles head coach, Finidi George, to the media and club supporters at the Sharks Stadium, Port Harcourt, on Thursday, July 4, as its new head coach, said he was appointed because of his experience and expertise.
George, who previously coached Enyimba of Aba for two years before his short-lived stint with the Nigerian national male team, on Wednesday, July 3, signed his contract at the club’s secretariat in Port Harcourt.
According to Rivers United, in a statement on its official website: “Finidi brings a wealth of experience and expertise to our team, having had a distinguished playing career spanning over 15 years.
“As a coach, Finidi has demonstrated his ability to lead teams to success and we are confident that he will bring his expertise and passion to our club. We are excited to have him on board and look forward to a successful tenure under his leadership.”
