Rivers, Delta, Abia, Other Get New Police Commissioners

THE Police Service Commission (PSC) has appointed eight new Commissioners of Police (CPs) to different State Commands, as well as a new Commandant for the Nigeria Police Academy in Wudil, Kano State.    PSC explained that these postings followed recent promotions of some former commissioners and are meant to meet operational needs and strengthen policing across the country.    Its spokesman, Torty Njoku, in a statement, said Afolabi Wilfred Olutokunbo, previously CP (Administration, Training and Development), has been redeployed to take charge of the Abia State Command, while Ayodeji Faniyan, formerly CP in charge of Administration at Police Cooperative in Lagos, was posted to Plateau State, and Saka Adewale Ajao, CP Administration at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex in Gombe, take charge of Bayelsa State Command.    In the same vein, Ajo Geoffrey Ordue, formerly CP INTERPOL Abuja, is now CP Cross River State; Nnanna Oji Ama, formerly CP Intelligence, now CP Anambra State; and Patrick Daaor, formerly CP Administration, Force Intelligence Department (FID), Abuja, takes over in Edo State.    Also redeployed are Tijani Murtala to Jigawa State and Samuel Erale Etaifo to Delta State, while AIG Auwal Musa Mohammed is the new Commandant of the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil.
