THE Rivers State House of Assembly will on Wednesday, January 17, re-screen and re-confirm nine former commissioners who resigned from the state executive council.

The commissioners quit the administration of Governor Siminilayi Fubara at the heat of the political crisis due to his disagreement with his predecessor, mentor and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Nyesom Wike.

A statement signed by the Clerk of the House, Mr. Emeka Amadi, on Monday, January 15 in Port Harcourt named the commissioners as attorney general and commissioner for Justice, Prof. Zacchaeus Adangor (SAN), Works, Dr. Des George-Kelly; Special Duties, Emeka Woke;  Social Welfare and Rehabilitation, Mrs. Inime Aguma; Finance, Isaac Kamalu; Education, Prof. Chinedu Mmom; Housing, Dr. Gift Worlu; Transport, Dr. Jacobson Nbina and Environment, Austin Ben-Chioma.

The statement said they are expected to produce 40 sets of their Curriculum Vitae (CV), photocopies, as well as original copies of their credentials to the House at the Legislative Quarters, venue for the screening.

The reinstatement of the former commissioners is part of the demands of President Bola Tinubu in the peace agreement signed between Fubara and Wike in Abuja during a mediation meeting.
