THE release of the Chairman of Sapele Local Government, Bright Abeke, on Monday, April 20, 10 days after he was abducted, has brought relief and doused tension in the council and Delta State.
Recall that the council chairman was kidnapped on April 10 by armed gunmen stormed riding in a Range Rover car, who stormed a hotel along Owumi road in Sapele, firing gunshots to scare residents before taking him to an unknown location.
His kidnap had raise tension the entire Delta State, especially in Sapele and among his family, friends and political associates.
