THE Joint Union Congress (JUC) of the Police Service Commission (PSC) has called on President Bola Tinubu to remove the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. Kayode Egbetokun, over his alleged meddlesomeness in the recent recruitment of Police constables.
At a press briefing in Abuja, the union also alleged that some top officers of the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) tried to smuggle in names during the recruitment process.
The aggrieved union members, while singing protest songs, described the reactions of the NPF as diversionary tactics, alleging that the Force intends to prevent the President from noticing the unpreparedness of its training schools to handle the training of the recruits due to the sorry states of the facilities.
This followed PSC’s recently released 10,000 names of successful candidates employed from the recent recruitment exercise by the commission, the list of which was rejected by the IGP, alleging fraud in the exercise.
