Police Question Yahaya Bello’s ADC, Security Details

Published:

THE Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has arrested a female Police officer who served as  Aide-De-Camp (ADC) to embattled former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, for alleged involvement in assisting Bello evade arrest by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The former ADC, accompanied by other Police officers assigned to Bello, was apprehended and held at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, Abuja.

The officers were taken into custody on the suspicions of assisting Bello in evading arrest by EFCC officials who had gone to apprehend him at his residence in Abuja on Wednesday and could face orderly room trial.

Their arrest and detention followed a Thursday night order by the Inspector General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun, directing their immediate withdrawal from the former governor.

“The ADC and the other Police details attached to Bello have been arrested and detained.

“They were arrested on the order of the IGP on the suspicion that they aided and abetted the former governor’s escape from the EFCC on Wednesday,” a Police source was quoted as telling a newspaper correspondent on Friday, April 19.
