THE Kogi State Police Command, on Sunday, May 26, confirmed the killing of two of the abducted students of Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara by their abductors.
The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Berthrand Onuoha, who confirmed the killing in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lokoja, described the incident as “very unfortunate.”
Onuoha did not give further details, saying security operatives were on the trail of the abductors to bring them to justice.
Recall that gunmen invaded the school around 9 p. m. on May 9 while the students were studying in their classes ahead of their examinations slated for May 13, shooting sporadically into the air and abducting some of them.
Although security opertive and local hunters rescued 21 of the abducted students, a few remain in the custody of the abductors.
