FORMER governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi, yesterday in Asaba, Delta State, emerged the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) for next year’s general elections.
Obi’s emergence followed the withdrawal of the National Youth Leader of the party, Mr. Eragbe Anslem, and National Consultative Front (NCFront), Prof. Pat Utomi, from the race.
Obi, until last week a presidential aspirant and the vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 elections, was elected as LP’s candidate at its ongoing National Convention in Asaba.
