Peller Makes U-turn, Resumes 20-state Tour

Published:

NIGERIAN TikToker and streamer, Habeeb Hamzat Adelaja, otherwise known as Peller, has reversed his earlier decision to cancel his planned 20-state tour, hours after announcing the cancellation.
Peller had announced a 20-state tour across Nigeria, kicking off on March 6, with planned visits to Oyo, Osun, Ekiti, Ogun, Ondo, Kogi, Kano, Kaduna, Abuja, Borno, Edo, Rivers, Imo, Abia, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Enugu, Niger and Ebonyi.
The content creator, who is facing a backlsh over alledged “unathirised” visit to the palace of the Oba of Benin, Ewuare 11, had been invited him to appear before a committee of chiefs to state his own side of the story and apologised for his action by the Benin Traditional Council (BTC) or face further actions.
During a recent TikTok live session, Peller announced an end to the tour, citing what he described as hostility and backlash from audiences.
He said: “I am ending my tour, I am not doing the tour again. I am the one who said I wanted to do a tour and it is still me that is saying that it has come to an end.
“I am not doing again, I have put my hands up. You people do not like me, you are not good people. Any state I enter, you people would say I do not deserve to be welcomed like that. Why? What did I do?”
Just hours later, he announced resumption of the tour during another live session streamed from Ebonyi State, saying calling off the tour was no longer an option, adding: “You people should not be angry, but I would not be able to end my tour, I cannot.
“We are live in Ebonyi state. See the beautiful city.”
