PDP NWC Passes Vote of Confidence On Damagun

THE National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has passed a vote of confidence on the party’s acting National Chairman, Umar Damagun.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, said in a statement on Wednesday, April 17, in Abuja, that the confidence vote was passed at the NWC’s 584th meeting on Tuesday, April 16, in Abuja.

Ologunagba said the decision was based on Damagun’s efforts aimed at repositioning the PDP as the main opposition party in Nigeria.

The National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the party is be scheduled to hold on Thursday, April 18, to either affirm Damagun as the substantive Chairman or appoint a replacement.

Damagun was appointed as the acting national chairman following the suspension of the former chairman, Dr. Iyorcha Ayu, last year, by his Ward in Benue State.
