THE Oyo State Government has lifted the curfew imposed on 10 local government areas of the state over the recent kidnapping in Oriire Local Council in particular.
Recall that the government initially imposed a 4p.m. to 8a.m. curfew on the affected councils, but later extended it by 24 hours on Thursday, June 25.
The affected local councils were Atiba, Atisbo, Irepo, Iseyin, Itesiwaju, Olorunsogo, Oriire, Oorelope, Saki West Saki East and border the Old Oyo National Park.
A statement on Saturday, June 27, in Ibadan, by the Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Dotun Oyelade, urged residents to resume their normal activities, expressing appreciation for their cooperation and understanding.
Oyelade said the state government was closely monitoring the security situation, reassuring residents that efforts were ongoing to bring the kidnapping episode to an end.
