EKITI State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has dissolved the State Executive Council (SEC) after holding a valedictory session with members of the cabinet at the Exco Chamber, Governor’s Office, Ado-Ekiti, to mark the end of his first tenure.
At the session, which began with hymns, praise songs and thanksgiving to God in appreciation of His goodness and guidance throughout the first four years, Oyebanji described the former cabinet members as a formidable team whose contributions helped his administration deliver on its promises to the people.
He expressed gratitude for the divine grace, wisdom and opportunity to serve the people, saying his administration had remained committed to making the state a better place for everyone to live.
The governor commended the former cabinet members for their support and contributions to the implementation of his administration’s programmes and policies, noting he would remain in contact with them.
Oyebanji, however, said the dissolution did not affect the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Habibat Adubiaro; his Chief of Staff, Oyeniyi Adebayo; and Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Olayinka Oyebode, who remained in their respective positions.
In their separate remarks, members of the former cabinet recounted their experiences in governance, expressing appreciation to the governor for the opportunity he gave them to serve the state.
Oyebanji, who was re-elected in the June 20 governorship election, is scheduled to be sworn in for a second term on Friday, October 16, to usher in another four-year tenure.
