Man Kills Woman, Son Over Sanitation Dispute In Lagos

Published:

THE Lagos State Police Command said it has arrested and detained a man (names withheld) for allegedly killing his neighbour and her son over environmental sanitation dispute in Lekki area of the state.

The Command’s spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin (SP), who disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos, said the incident happened on Sunday, September 15, about 10:50 p.m. and investigation was ongoing to ascertain what the suspect used to commit the crime.

Hundeyin explained that on that date, about 8:50a.m., an information was received at the Elemoro Division that the suspect allegedly killed one Gloria, who was his neighbour, and her son over an argument on cleaning of the environment.

He added that the suspect put their dead bodies in a big sack to dispose the bodies, but luck was against him, as other neighbours quickly alerted the Elemoro Police Division of the incident, adding: “Immediately, detectives of the Division rushed to the scene, arrested the suspect and recovered the bodies.”

The Command spokesman said the bodies had been deposited at the Epe General Hospital mortuary for autopsy and preservation, while Police detectives undertake further investigation of the incident.
