THE Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, on Monday, August 12, presented the ceremonial beaded crown to the former governor of Oyo State and Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, High Chief Rashidi Ladoja.

Recall that Ladoja had publicly announced his intention to accept the crown at a live radio programme in Ibadan as part of the criteria for him to be the next in line to the reverred throne.

Since the, his Bodija private residence had played host to a number of prominent visitors, including Governor Seyi Makinde; Asiwaju of Ibadanland, Chief Bode Amao; former president general of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, Chief Bayo Oyero; the current President General, Chief Niyi Ajewole; Chief Wole Akinwande and Yemisi Adeaga, among others.

The beaded crown was presented to Ladoja by the monarch shortly before the inaugural meeting of the Olubadan-in-Council, which is the highest decision-making body of the Ibadan chieftaincy system since the assumption of the new Olubadan on July 12.
