Kwara Terrorists Threaten To Marry Off Emir’s Abducted Wives Over N150m Ransom Delay

Published:

TERRORISTS who abducted wives of the Emir of Yashikira and other residents have reportedly threatened to forcibly marry the women to their commanders if ransom demands were not met immediately.
The threat, passed through contacts linked to negotiation for their release, has raised further fears in residents of Yashikira community in Kaiama Local Council of Kwara State.
The bandits are demanding about N150million for the release of the abductees, amounting to about N15million per victim.
Security operatives involved in ongoing rescue efforts said the abductors issued the threat following frustration over delays in ransom payment for the victims, who were kidnapped during a midnight assault on the emir’s palace and Yashikira Police divisional headquarters on Sunday, May 24.
According to a source: “The terrorists have threatened that if the ransom is not paid, they will marry off the emir’s wives and other female victims to their commanders.
“The ransom being demanded is around N150million. The information came through a source close to the palace who is part of the team working to secure the release of the abductees.”
The threat came days after terrorists carried out a coordinated attack on Yashikira , 2026, targeting both the Emir’s palace and the police divisional headquarters.
The Kwara State Police Command, while confirming the incident, explained that 10 persons were abducted during attack.
