NOLLYWOOD actress, Annie Macaulay, has explained how she wants to be addressed.
In an Instagram Story on Monday, March 2, the Annie wrote: “I’m not a single mum. I’m a single woman raising two kids.”
The brief, but firm statement drew instant reactions online, with many interpreting it as her way of correcting a common label often used to describe women raising children alone without their father or husband.
The message came over one year after her former husband and popular musician, Innocent Idibia, otherwise known as 2Baba, publicly confirmed that they had separated and filed for divorce.
They had tied the knot in 2013 in two ceremonies and share two daughters- Isabel, born in 2008, and Olivia, born in 2014.
Meanwhile, 2Baba has since remarried to Natasha Osawaru, a member of the Edo State House of Assembly and the couple welcomed their first child in November last year.
