I Resigned From Tinubu’s Govt To Work Against His Re-Election, Says Audu

Published:

A FORMER Senior Special Adviser on Public Affairs to President Bola Tinubu, Aliyu Audu, has revealled that he left the APC-led administration based on his resolve to work against his re-election in 2027 to achieve a more inclusive and accountable Nigeria.
Speaking on a television programme on Monday, June 16, Audu faulted the Tinubu administration for allegedly prioritising self interest against national unity, accusing it of neglecting all campaign promises made to Nigerians ahead of the 2023 elections.
He stated: “I think it’s a matter of principle and living for something greater than oneself. It’s about believing that Nigeria is not beyond fixing. It’s about knowing what loyalty is, to what and to whom loyalty should be absolute.”
Reminscing on Tinubu’s political past, particularly his opposition to former President, Olusegun Obasanjo’s strong hold on the Southwest in the 2000s, Audu accused him of engaging in similar tactics.
The former presidential aide vowed that he and like minds would remove Tinubu in 2027 and install a leader chosen by the people, adding it is no longer a “my turn” affair, but “our turn” affair.
