THE newly appointed Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO) of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Benjamin Hundeyin, a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), has assumed duties at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, with a promise to do his best in the discharge of his duties.
Hundeyin, in a post on his X handle, said: “My immeasurable gratitude goes to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, for finding me worthy of holding this position.
“To all Nigerians, I promise to do my best in the discharge of my duties. So, help me God…”
Hundeyin was officially announced as the Force spokesman, following the confirmation of his appointment by Egbetokun on Thursday, Seltember 4.
His elevation came barely 24 hours after his predecessor, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, was decorated with his new rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) and redeployed as Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations (DC-Ops), Delta State Command, following his earlier promotion by the Police Service Commission (PSC).
Late on Thursday, Adejobi handed over to Hundeyin, at a brief ceremony held at the Force Headquarters.
Adejobi, who announced Hundeyin’s appointment in a statement, described his successor as a seasoned communicator with rich academic and professional credentials, well-suited to sustain and enhance the Force’s public relations efforts.
Hundeyin, the immediate past PRO of the Lagos State Police Command, is a BA (English) alumnus of Lagos State University (LASU) and holds a Master’s degree in Legal Criminology and Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan (UI).
He also holds professional Certificate in Civil-Military Coordination from the Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Training Centre, Jaji.
He is an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM), as well as a member of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA).
