Ezeife Dies At 85, Tinubu Mourns

PRESIDENT Bola Tinubu has sympathised with the Ezeife family, the people and the government of Anambra State on the passing of Chief Chukwuemeka Ezeife, a former governor of the state.

  Ezeife, Okwadike of Igbo-Ukwu, was governor of Anambra from 1992 to 1993.

Tinubu, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, on Friday, December 15, 2023 in Abuja, extolled the towering influence of the former federal permanent secretary in Nigeria’s political landscape and his leadership credentials, describing his passing as a painful loss.

The President recalled Ezeife’s contributions in the shaping of public discourse and governance in Nigeria and in laying the foundation for the advancement of Anambra State.

While praying for the repose of his soul, the President encouraged his loved ones to take solace in his indelible legacy.

  Chief Nwakaire Ezeife, who announced the passage of  the elder statesman on behalf the family, said he died at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Abuja, Thursday, December 14, 2023 at the age of 85.

He stated that more details about the deceased and the arrangements for his state burial would be announced later.
