Edo Guber: PDP Lauds Judgment Affirming Ighodalo’s Candidacy

THE Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has lauded the judgment of a Federal High Court, Abuja, on Wednesday, July 17, affirming the nomination of its candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo, in the September 21 governorship election in Edo State.

The PDP, in a press release signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Debo Ologunagba, described the judgment, which upheld the PDP Edo State governorship primary election held on February 22 at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City, as victory for democracy, rule of law and an affirmation of the propriety and credibility of the primary election and PDP’s internal democracy.

The party stated that the judgment further validates the fact that all the aspirants at the primary election were accorded level -playing field in the conduct of its congresses and governorship primary election in the state that produced Ighodalo as candidate.

It congratulated Ighodalo over the judgment, urging all members to remain united and continue to work together with the majority of the people of Edo State to ensure the victory of PDP and its candidate in the forthcoming governorship election.
