THE leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council, has congratulated Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on his victory at the apex court affirming his election on March 18, last year.
The Council, in a statement by its Chairman, Comrade Churchill Oyowe, and Secretary, Comrade Victor Sorokwu, commended the resilience and doggedness of the governor in pursuing his avowed ambition to deliver MORE to Deltans, saying: “It is heartwarming to note that the apprehensive socio-political atmosphere occasioned by the post-election litigations is now relaxed and the seemingly lull in governance and government business would fizzle out.
“We look forward to a more robust and rewarding engagement between the government and the people, in line with the MORE Agenda of the Oborevwori administration.”
The Council urged the governor, in the spirit of sportsmanship, to extend olive branch to the opposition and ensure that all genuine efforts towards enhanced statecraft are brought to bear on all facets of development for the common good of Deltans.
Going forward, the NUJ, Delta State Council, reiterated its commitment to engage and partner the Oborevwori administration to make Delta the pride among states of the federation.
