Dangote Refinery Hikes Fuel Price By N100 Per Litre

Published:

DANGOTE Refinery has announced a N100 per liter hike in the retail price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol, nationwide.
The refinery, in a statement on Monday, January 26, said its gantry price of petrol was sold at N799 per litre, while the retail price was N839 per litre, as against the previous N699 and N739 per litre since December last year.
According to the statement, under the current alignment, the PMS gantry price is N799 per liter, while MRS retail outlets are selling at N839 per liter.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Dangote Petroleum Refinery, David Bird, said the refinery continues to supply the domestic market with approximately 50 million litres of petrol daily, with nationwide evacuation and distribution operating normally.
The refinery resorted to gasoline imports to boost its capacity amid its Residual Fluid Catalytic Cracker (RFCC) downtime.
Recall that President of the refinery, Aliko Dangote, had on December 14, last year, said its N739 per liter retail fuel price would persist nationwide to edge out importers, assuring: “We don’t want people to sell petrol for more than N740 nationwide.”
