THE Governor of the Central bank of Nigeria (CBN), Yemi Cardoso, is leading Nigeria’s delegation to this year’s World Bank and IMF yearly meetings scheduled for Washington D.C., United States (US), from Monday, October 13, following the indisposition of the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy of Nigeria, Wale Edun, who has been ruled out.
Cardoso serves as Nigeria’s alternate governor at the Bretton Woods institutions
Edun reportedly suffered a stroke and was flown abroad for medical treatment, although the presidency only stated that he was indisposed.
A statement issued by the Specil Adviser to the President on Communication and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Sunday, October 12, in Abuja, listed others on the delegation to include the Minister of State for Finance, Doris Uzoka-Anite, who was expected to head the delegation, as well as other key government officials.
