THE body of the late governor of Ondo State, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu, arrived in Nigeria from Germany, where he reportedly passed away.
The plane bearing his remains touched down at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos around 3:39 p.m. on Friday, January 5 and were received by his wife, Mrs. Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, his children and siblings, led by his younger brother, Prof. Wole Akeredolu.
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, was represented by his Chief of Staff, Mr. Tayo Ayinde; Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, was represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mr. Tokunbi Talabi; and the representative of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, were also on ground to receive the body.
Family members, followers, friends and associates could not control their emotions as the body was being lowered from the plane.
The body of Akeredolu, who died on December 26, last year, have been deposited at the morgue, pending the final burial arrangements to be announced by the family.
