MUSTAPHA Rabiu Kwankwaso, son of the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in the 2023 general elections, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has resigned his appointment as Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development in Kano State.
The younger Kwankwaso, who announced his resignation in a statement posted on his official Facebook account on Monday, January 26, expressed gratitude to Governor Abba Yusuf for the opportunity to serve in the administration, noting: “It is with a heavy heart that I announce my resignation as commissioner, Ministry of Youth and Sports Development and member of the Kano State Executive Council.”
Kwankwaso thanked the governor for the confidence reposed in him, saying his time in office provided him with valuable experiences and lessons while serving the people of the state, which he cherished, while appreciating the trust placed in him.
Kwankwaso expressed the hope that the youth and sports sectors would continue to receive adequate attention under the present administration, just as he stressed the need for sustained investment in youth empowerment and sports development.
“As I resign, I pray that the youth of Kano State will continue to receive the attention and support they deserve.
“I hope for the best for our sports development programmes and initiatives, and I am confident that they will flourish in the years to come.
“May Allah (SWT) continue to shower His blessings on our beloved Kano State. I wish the government and people of Kano State all the best.”
His resignation comes on the heels of current political realignments that have cultimated in Yusuf dumping the NNPP to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).
