THE Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji, has dissolved the State Executive Council (SEC), made up of commissioners and special advisers, with immediate effect.
A statement late on Sunday, August 10, by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Habibat Adubiaro, said all the political appointees, apart from the attorney general and commissioner for Justice; commissioners for Health and Human Services; Agriculture and Food Security; Education; Works; Trade, Investment, Industry and Cooperatives; as well as special advisers on Special Education and Social Inclusion; Lands, Survey and e-GIS, were affected by the dissolution.
Those affected were advosed to hand over to the permanent secretary or the most senior civil servant in their respective ministries, departments and agencies.
According to the statement, the governor thanked thosee affected and wishes them success in their future endeavours.
It stated, however, that all directors general (DGs) who are members of the Council were to retain their positions, including . These are the director generals, Office of Transformation and Service Delivery (OTSD); SDGs and Project Monitoring; and Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP).
The All Progressives Congress (APC) governor was sworn in on October 16, 2022, is seeking a second term in next year’s election.
