Presidency Corrects Error In National Honours Award

Published:

THE Presidency has issued a corrigendum to correct an error in the award of national honours by President Bola Tinubu in his speech to the joint session of the National Assembly on Thursday, June 12, in commemoration of Democracy Day.
During the address, the President announced a list of pro-democracy activists and national figures to be honoured for their significant contributions to the restoration of democratic governance in Nigeria. Under the posthumous award category, the names of Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, and Dr. Edwin Madunagu were incorrectly included.
According to the corrigendum issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, said: “Both distinguished individuals are very much alive and, therefore, should not have appeared in the posthumous category.”
