Annie Confirms Divorce From 2Baba

Published:

NOLLYWOOD actress, Annie Macaulay, has publicly confirmed her divorce from Nigerian musician, 2Baba, also known as Tuface.
She had been silent on the matter for months, but while co-presenting the award for Best Afrobeat Singer of the Year, alongside Farooq Oreagba, popularly celebrated as the “King of Steeze” from the 2024 Ojude Oba festival, on stage, she stumbled, introduced herself as “Annie Idi… Oh! Sorry, Annie Macaulay. Hey, single ladies,” drawing loud cheers from the audience at the Landmark Event Centre, Lekki, Lagos.
The development came following months of speculation, especially after she dropped “Idibia” from her Instagram handle upon returning to social media in March.
The couple officially parted ways in January this year when 2Baba announced their separation and filed for divorce and almost immediately started frilocking with and indeed proposed to member of the Edo State House of Assembly, Natasha Osawaru, and introduced her to his family last week, fueling rumours of impending wedding.
Annie and 2Baba’s relationship started in 1999 and they got married in 2012 and remained so for 13 years, giving birth to two daughters- Isabel and Olivia.
Their marriage, though celebrated, often experienced challenges, largely due to 2Baba’s previous relationship with Pero Adeniyi, with whom he shares three children.
Despite public controversies, the couple renewed their vows in 2022 to mark their 10th anniversary, but tensions resurfaced, culminating in their separation earlier this year.
