Okpebholo Suspends Monarch Over Kidnappings

THE Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo, has ordered the immediate suspension of the Okumagbe of Uwano Kingdom in Agenebode, Etsako East Local Council, His Highness, George Egabor.
A statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua, on Monday, April 21, said the monarch was suspended over recent and incessant cases of kidnapping and killings in his domain.
The statement added: “Already, his secretary, Chief Peter Omiogbemhi, has been arrested by the relevant authorities, following a recent incident that led to the death of a palace chief, John Ikhamate.
“The suspension of the traditional ruler is indefinite.”
