Army Appoints First Female Spokesperson

THE Nigerian Army has appointed Lt- Col Appolonia Onyechi Anaele as acting Director of Army Public Relations, thereby becoming its first female spokesperson.
A member of the Direct Regular Course 15 and the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Anaele, who assumes office on April 22, succeeds Maj-Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu, who has been redeployed to the Nigerian Army Heritage and Future Centre.
Before her appointment, Anaele served as Public Relations Officer to the Chief of Army Staff, and recently at the Department of Civil-Military Relations at Defence Headquarters.
