Five Days After Suspension, Fubara Appears In Public

FIVE days after his suspension vis the proclamation of a state of emergency by President Bola Tinubu, Rivers State Governor, Similanayi Fubara, appeared in public at a church service in Port Harcourt, for the first time, sparking excitement following earlier concerns over his whereabouts.
Fubara, on Sunday, March 23, attended service at Salvation Ministries, pridided over by Pastor David Ibiyeomie and was warmly received at the entrance.
Thee have been uncertainty concerning his whereabouts, with some saying he had escaped or fled to Bayelsa State, where he was being hosted at Government House by Governor Douye Diri.
But he unannounced appearance at the church service seemed to have put paid to all doubts about his whereabouts.
His vehicles was almost mobbed on the street close to the church at Birabi Street, GRA 2, behind the Hotel Presidential.
According to a statement from his media aide, Nelson Chukwu, the governor was accompanied by top politicians, major stakeholders, elders, leaders of the state and associates as he came to offer prayers to express gratitude to God for His love, mercy and unwavering support in the midst of the ongoing political challenges.
Chukwudi listed those in company of the governor as his chief of staff, Edison Ehie; President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Senator Azuta John Mbata; former deputy national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chiefs Sam-Sam Jaja; Orits Onyiri; Mike Elechi and David Briggs.
Others include Tamunosisi Gogo-Jaja; Fubara Hart; Theodore Georgewill; Kingston Sylvanus; Ezebunwo Ichemati; Israel Abosi; David Omereji and many others who appeared excited to be in his company.
Fubara’s aide said a special prayer session was held for him shortly after the service.
