He Didn’t Drop Anything, Portable Laments After Meeting Obi

Published:

CONTROVERSIAL Nigerian musician, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has expressed disappointment that he was left empty-handed after a recent encounter with the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate in last year’s general elections, Mr. Peter Obi, in Benin City, the Edo State capital.

Obi was in Benin to campaign for LP governorship candidate in the September 21 election, Olumide Akpata, while Portable was in town for a show.

Portable drew public scrutiny following his remarks that the former Anambra State governor offer him anything after the meeting, even though he appeared excited to meet Obi.

In a now viral video on social media, an excited Portable was seen bowing as he approached Obi, a surprising sight, given his previous remarks about the former governor, who welcomed him and hugged him, as they exchanged pleasantries after the meeting.

Speaking in Yoruba shortly after greeting Obi, Portable said: “Obi cannot give us anything. Obi didn’t give us anything.

If it was Tinubu we met, he would have given us something. Let’s go.”
