ICPC Questions Ngige Over NSITF Contracts

Published:

THE Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC) has questioned a former minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige, over contract irregularities and job racketeering at the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) during his tenure.

The ICPC previously summoned some top officials of the Fund for questioning regarding an N47million gratuity paid to the immediate past managing director, Mrs. Maureen Allagoa, while she was still in service.

The minister was reported to have spent a few hours with investigators on Wednesday, September 4 and was allowed to go.

ICPC spokesman, Mr. Demola Bakare, confirmed Ngige’s invitation, interrogation and subsequent release.
